Connecting transpacific cables with our fiber network
Transpacific connections with the West Coast
Astound Business Solutions provides Subsea Backhaul service and connects the West Coast to our extensive fiber network. In Oregon, we have multiple Dark Fiber routes that transfer data through our system to Hillsboro, Oregon, where we help businesses connect with the area’s many first-class data centers.
We operate a subsea cable landing station, owned by Tillamook Lightwave, in Pacific City, OR. Through here, several countries connect to the West Coast via transpacific cables, including NCP, Hawaiki, TGN, Jupiter, the North Star, and Southern Cross.
Transpacific destinations include
American Samoa, Australia, China, Guam, Japan, Korea, New Caledonia, New Zealand, the Philippines, and Taiwan.
We’re also connected via cables originating from Alaska and Hawaii.
Dominating Northwest Oregon
Our two Hillsboro Data Center Rings connect up to 13 existing or planned data centers, via a 3,456-strand fiber optic cable, giving organizations a wide variety of cross-connection options and the ability to choose protected paths between facilities.
We’re also currently constructing a fiber ring, with dark fiber availability, that will connect Hillsboro to Portland where we dominate the area’s fiber footprint.
