Boston, MA – September 30, 2024 – Astound Broadband, an award-winning provider of Internet, Mobile and TV services, continues its role as a premier sponsor for the Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai. Having supported the event since 2015, Astound will once again participate in the 2024 Walk, taking place on Sunday, October 6. The Astound ice cream truck will be on hand to serve frozen treats to walkers participating in the 36th annual event. The Astound ice cream truck will also participate in Jimmy Fund Walk Spirit Week by giving out ice cream to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute employees on October 2, as a kickoff to Walk weekend.
Proceeds from the Jimmy Fund Walk directly support cancer care and research at Dana-Farber.

On Sunday, October 6, thousands of walkers will take to the famed Boston Marathon® course. Participants can choose to walk a 5K, 10K, half marathon or full marathon, or participate virtually in their own communities. All routes will conclude at the Jimmy Fund Walk Finish Line Powered by Schneider Electric at Boston Common, by the corner of Charles and Beacon Street. Finish line activities will include a celebration with food, entertainment, and more. Astound representatives will be present at the finish line, distributing ice cream to participants throughout the day.
Astound has supported other Dana-Farber events this year. In May, Astound celebrated Nurses Week by bringing the ice cream truck to Dana-Farber’s Longwood Medical campus to honor nurses and other healthcare workers. And in June, Astound handed out goodies and interacted with guests at the Jimmy Fund Scooper Bowl.
